Center Pivot Span cable must be allowed to swivel at the pivot, otherwise it would be wrap itself around the pivot. The device which allows the cable to rotate is called collector ring. Irritech insist on using UMC AL cover collector with UL and CSA list on our pivots for stable quality.

UMC collector ring consists of brass rings in a stack that remain stationary and are separated by insulators. Contact brushes revolve around the brass rings providing continuous flow of current without twisting the cable as the machine makes revolutions around the field.

.New cover material for great impact resistance.

.Specially designed cover clamps.
.U.L. Listed to ensure safety and quality.
.Large copper brushes are 80% copper and 20% graphite for less resistance.
.Seamless ring to reduce brush wear.
.Collector ring fits most center pivots.
.Wires are numbered and/or color coded for easy identification.
.Greasable bearings in the base, stops shaft seizure.

.Heavy duty die cast aluminum base is more durable than the competition’s plastic base.

Use Scenarios

Electrical Connectivity in Center Pivot Irrigation Systems
In large-scale agricultural operations, the UMC Collector Ring plays a crucial role in ensuring uninterrupted electrical flow between rotating parts of center pivot systems. Its high-quality copper brushes maintain a stable electrical connection even under high torque conditions. The ring's design reduces the frequency of electrical failures, ensuring that pivot systems continue to operate smoothly over long periods. The greaseable bearing system also minimizes friction, allowing for low-maintenance, continuous operation in the field.

Maintaining Durability in Challenging Environments
The UMC Collector Ring is built for tough environments where dust, moisture, and high-pressure conditions are common. In pivot irrigation systems across regions with extreme weather, such as arid or humid climates, the die-cast aluminum base resists corrosion, ensuring the longevity of the component. The robust construction allows the collector ring to maintain electrical connectivity reliably, regardless of external factors, making it essential for agricultural projects in challenging conditions.

Reducing Operational Downtime in Irrigation Systems
The UMC Collector Ring minimizes the need for frequent maintenance by offering a greaseable bearing system that reduces wear and tear. This system ensures that the center pivot irrigation system operates for extended periods without the need for constant service checks. The ability to maintain electrical continuity without interruptions translates to reduced downtime, making it a preferred choice for farm operators who need to maximize irrigation efficiency with minimal disruption.
